About the Event
Go inside Ellora Caves, one of the largest rock-cut complexes in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with Indian art historian Dr. Deepanjana Klein, co-editor Dr. Arno Klein, and contributor Columbia University Prof. Emerita of Asian and South Asian Art Vidya Dehejia.
Ellora Caves, outside Aurangabad, India, are comprised of 34 temples dating from 600--1000 CE, and include Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain temples. Dr. Deepanjana Klein, has produced the first systematic overview of the temples in Ellora, which features 203 photographs by Arno Klein and rare 19th century images.
Presentation and talk begin promptly at 6:00 pm and will be followed by a reception and book signing.
