Newberry Honor-winning author Veera Hiranandani comes to the Rye Free Reading Room to meet with kids 9 to adult to talk about how to use our lives to create stories, how to write about identity and family history, and about her newest book Amil and the After, a stand-alone sequel to her acclaimed The Night Diary.  The New York Times Book Review called Amil and the After "Masterly… a book about hope, about a boy and his father, both hurt and vulnerable, navigating their traumas and finally surviving — .”
