"Beyond Rice and Naan" with Silu Sao Narvekar, author and Health Coach
Abetted by a diet high in carbohydrates, Indians are at risk for high triglycerides despite the plant-based diet followed by many Indians. The stress of daily lives and major life events can have a profound impact on one’s relationship with food and weight. Silu will share her story about overcoming obstacles, discuss how to manage stress, and present her prescriptions for managing weight and health. Lunch will be prepared by Mumbai Times under Silu's direction.
Silu Sao Narvekar is a holistic health coach, chef, former restaurateur, author, and founder of Eat Smile Glow, a company focused on culinary wellness, a philosophy, which helps to alleviate client ailments using a lifestyle approach and foods that are nourishing and delicious. Silu graduated from Johns Hopkins University, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and attended the International Culinary Center. She currently sits on the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences at Johns Hopkins University and is working on a cookbook with her daughter.
